John Gavin

2025 President-Elect Candidate

John Gavin, a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina, is focused on Commercial Real Estate. John joined Cameron Management in January 2021. In his role as Assistant to the Brokerage and Development team, John provides valuable research, listing, marketing, vendor coordination, and client-facing assistance. John is personable, knowledgeable, and responsible in completing his duties. 

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Development and Entrepreneurship from the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He is a lifelong North Carolina citizen who grew up in Charlotte and has lived in Wilmington since 2012. John enjoys fishing, golf, traveling, and spending time with his family. John is a member of The First Tee of Greater Wilmington’s Young Professionals Board, Cape Fear Realtors, Realtors Commercial Alliance of Southeastern North Carolina, and Port City Young Professionals.

Troy Demers

2025 Treasurer Candidate

Troy was born and raised in Concord, New Hampshire, where at an early age he grew an interest for real estate. He moved to Greenville, NC to attend East Carolina University where he received a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.  That is where his real estate journey began; receiving his North Carolina broker’s license during junior year of college and his CCIM designation shortly after graduation. 

In January 2022, The Overton Group took on the exciting challenge of expanding into a new but familiar market by opening a second office in Wilmington, NC. Troy spends his time focused primarily on business development, investment brokerage and asset management.  

Outside of real estate, he enjoys spending time cooking on the grill, golfing and traveling to see friends.

Harry Knight

2025 Director Candidate

Harry is a Realtor currently associated with Intracoastal Realty Corporation located in Wilmington NC.  His focus in the Real Estate Business is Affordable Housing along with Commercial Land Development.  Harry has been a local Realtor since the summer of 2016 following a 3 decade career in the Nuclear Industry

As an Engineer by degree and prior to the Real Estate Industry he first associated with the Knolls Atomic Power Lab (KAPL) an organization dedicated to supporting the United States Nuclear Navy.  He is one of the few civilians qualified as a US Navy Nuclear Engineer, certified plant operator and supervisor.  His last assignment with  KAPL was managing the Department of Energy’s Radioactive Materials Laboratory where end of life material testing was conducted on spent highly enriched nuclear fuel and plant structural components

In 2000 Harry moved to Wilmington to work for GE Nuclear Manufacturing where he served in various roles including the Environmental Health and Safety Manager for Manufacturing and finally before retiring he was one of the International Project Directors responsible for in Reactor Vessel upgrades due to his experience in managing both domestic as well as international Nuclear and Safety Regulations

In addition to his current Real Estate Career he supports the citizens of New Hanover County and the State of North Carolina by serving on several appointed boards.  He is currently a member of

  • Lower Cape Fear Water and Sewer Commission – Current Chairman
  • New Hanover County Port, Beach and Waterway Authority where he oversees the status and planning of the beach renourishment programs
  • NC State Board for Licensing of Soil Scientists where oversees the rules and regulations associated with being a licensed soil scientists as well as approves new soil scientists
  • CFR Government Affairs Committee – Vice Chairman and Incoming Chairman
  • CFR RPAC Committee and Major Donor

Harry brings decades of practical experience managing people, processes and navigating through complex governmental rules and regulations to the experience base on the Cape Fear Realtors Board.

Oliver Evans

2025 Director Candidate

Oliver specializes in working with investors who are interested in land and multi-family properties. His attention to detail and can-do attitude has proven to be a vital resource to his clients.  Oliver is currently pursuing his CCIM certification to better serve his clients.  

Originally from New York City, Oliver spent several years working in the advertising tech industry as an account strategist. Through this position, he developed strong marketing, analytical and solution-based skills. That skillset combined with Oliver’s entrepreneurial mindset, made a move into real estate a successful endeavor.   

In 2019, Oliver returned to Wilmington, NC to put down permanent roots in the city of his alma mater, UNCW. Oliver started in real estate as a residential broker and found he most enjoyed working with investors by helping them analyze and negotiate deals. As a next step in Oliver’s real estate career, he has expanded his brokerage services to focus on helping clients buy, sell or lease commercial properties.  

Oliver is proud to be a new dad and when he is not working, he loves sailing, surfing, golfing and traveling.

Deb Cook

2025 Director Candidate

Deb has been actively involved as a Commercial REALTOR throughout NC and Corporate Director of Real Estate for a regional QSR since 1986.  She has worked throughout NC, SC, VA, and TN in site selection and land assemblage for general merchandise retail developers, franchised retailers and automotive, QSR’s/dine-in restaurants, market rate and LIHTC developers, multi-family buyers, 1031’s, shopping centers, leasing/management of 1500+ government facilities, office, and investment sales.

She currently serves on the RCASENC Brand Development Committee and RCASENC Economic Development (EDGA) Committee.
